Use on...
Ensure the wood is clean and dry. Lightly sand to remove any loose wood fibres and wipe off any dirt, dust and grease. Wipe down the surface with white spirit before application to remove any natural oils and resins. Weathered, painted or varnished wood should be sanded back to clean, sound wood then treated as bare wood. Avoid the inhalation of dust and wear a suitable facemask when sanding. Previously oiled hardwood should be thoroughly cleaned down with white spirit to remove all traces of residual oil. Ronseal Garden Furniture Protector is lightly pigmented, always test colour on an inconspicuous area first.
Stir thoroughly prior to and during use. Apply even coats and finish in the direction of the grain avoiding overlaps. Apply 3 coats. Allow 8 hours between coats. Always use a good quality, soft bristle brush. Do not apply in wet conditions or if rain is likely before the product has dried. Allow coating to dry thoroughly before subjecting to heavy wear and avoid placing soft furnishings in contact with the furniture for 48 hours.
