How much fencing stain do I need?
Measure your area precisely, drop the numbers into this smart calculator and it will tell you straight away how many litres you'll need to complete your project.
How do the colours look?
Use on...
Make sure the wood is clean and dry and don't use in temperatures lower than 10°C. Stir well before use and test on a small area to check you are happy with the colour.
Using a Brush: Put lots of stain on the brush and apply a thick , even coat. One coat will do the job but if the wood is a contrasting colour or very weathered a second coat can be put on.
Using a Sprayer: Pour the stain into the sprayer. Pump it up or turn it on and start spraying. For an even finish use long, sweeping arm movements and move along the full width of the panel. Drop down and do the same again going over where you have already sprayed by 50%.
Remove any stain from your brush and wash in warm, soapy water. Don't put any left over stain down the drain or into watercourses. Your local authority may have facilities to get rid of unused stain.
