How do the colours look?
Use on...
The stain can only be applied on warm days (above 10ºC) and there’s no rain forecast.
Preparation
- For the stain to work properly, weathered, varnish or oiled wood needs to be sanded back to the bare wood.
- New furniture should also be lightly sanded to remove any rough splinters.
- Use white spirit to wipe down the furniture to remove dirt or grease.
- Thoroughly stir the tin with a paint brush handle or a wooden spoon.
- Test the colour of the stain on a small patch to check you’re happy with it.
- If you’re happy with it, grab a brush and start painting.
- Apply the first coat and brush in the direction of the wood grain.
- Wait four hours for the first coat to dry.
- For the best results, apply three coats leaving four hours between each.
- Wait two days for the stain to have completely dried and hardened before using your furniture.
Cleaning
Scrape as much stain off your brushes as you can and then wash them in warm soapy water.
To keep your furniture looking good, regularly wipe it down with a damp cloth to prevent a build-up of dirt.
Maintenance
Three coats will protect your furniture for up to three years but if you notice any damage, just apply another coat to protect it.
